«Какой следующий», видео-арт

«Очень часто выходит так, что я вижу связи или параллели между своими работами спустя долгое время после их создания. Так вышло и с этой работой, я перебирала архивы и увидела связь между видео, которое было создано ко дню моего рождения и метафорично его демонстрировало, и видео, которое было создано относительно недавно, во время экспедиции в Башкирию, где я искала своих предков. Второе видео, как и первое, демонстрирует меня, но когда я объединила эти работы, оставив при этом лишь визуальную составляющую, у меня в голове возникли два слова – «какой следующий», и младенец на видео – уже не я, а некий абстрактный следующий человек.

It often happens that I see connections or parallels between my works long after creating them. It also happened with this work. I looked through the archives and saw the connection between the video that was created for the day of my birth and metaphorically demonstrated it and the video that was created relatively recently, during an expedition to Bashkiria, where I was looking for my ancestors. The second video, as well as the first one, demonstrates me. But if we give up the above written information and try to compare these works based on visual components only, the following words appear in my mind: ‘what’s next’. The baby on the video is no longer me but some abstract next person.
