Гипотеза эффекта «зловещей долины» сформулирована в 70-х годах ХХ века японским ученым-робототехником и инженером Масахиро Мори. Строится она на том, что антропоморфный робот или другой объект, выглядящий, как человек, но при этом очевидно ненастоящий, вызывает у людей неприязнь и отвращение. Он перестает восприниматься как техника и начинает казаться ожившим трупом, вызывая у наблюдателя страх смерти.

Сегодня, когда искусственный интеллект прочно занимает свои позиции во всех сферах человеческой деятельности, эффект «зловещей долины» стирается и перестает быть актуальным. Поколение за поколением вырастают в мире технологий и привыкают к компании робототехники.

The hypothesis of the ‘sinister valley effect’ was formulated in the 1970s by Japanese robotics scientist and engineer named Masahiro Mori. It is based on the fact that an anthropomorphic robot or other object that looks like a human but is obviously not real causes resentment and disgust in people. It ceases to be perceived as technology and begins to appear as a reanimated corpse, thus causing the fear of death in the observer.

Today, artificial intelligence has firmly established itself in all spheres of human activity. The ‘sinister valley effect’ effect is disappearing and ceasing to be relevant. Generation after generation grows up in the world of technology and gets used to robotics.
