В этом году Дни современного искусства открылись Prewiev выступлением российской нью-вейв-группы On-The-Go, а завершающим событием станет выступление POKO COX cо специальной  программой Outcome – сольный live содержащий откровения о творческой стороне кооперации одного со многими.

Poko Cox — человек новой волны, причем одновременно и той, что накрыла музыкальный ландшафт 80-х, и актуальной сегодня волны умной независимой поп-музыки. Его песни состоят не из заезжанных хуков и клише прошедших эпох, а из самой атмосферы поп-культуры 80-х, из ее энергии, плоти и крови, из дыма и саспенса хоррор-фильмов, жара прожекторов на рок-концертах, запаха магнитной ленты и многого другого. В отличие от своих коллег Poko Cox, используя ретро-эстетику, совсем не стремится создать красивую рафинированную картинку, он проводит параллели старого мира больших машин, больших артистов и больших стремлений с новым — где царят бесконечно меняющиеся эфемерные цифровые потоки и быстрые мимолетные впечатления. Именно эта напряженность — олдскул vs будущее — и наполняет смыслом и электричеством песни проекта, особенно на концертах. Стиль и самобытность не могут возникнуть без идеи, без плоти и крови, труда и осознанности — все это есть у Poko Cox, стоявшего у истоков целой эпохи, породившей всю сегодняшнюю модно-музыкальную сцену, и через эту эпоху удачно перешагнувшего.

This year, DOCA opened with a performance by the Russian new wave band On-The-Go. The final event, in turn, is going to be Poko Cox performing his special Outcome programme. This live is about revelations of the artistic side of one-with-many cooperation.

Poko Cox is a new wave person. By that, we mean both the wave that struck music landscape of the 80s and the relevant wave of today’s independent smart pop music. Poko Cox’s songs don’t consist of hooks and clichés of the past. They are rather about the very atmosphere of the 80s pop culture, its energy, flesh and blood, smoke and suspense of horror films, the heat of spotlights at rock concerts, the smell of magnetic tape, and more. Unlike his colleagues, Poko Cox is using retro aesthetics not to create a beautifully refined image. He is drawing the parallels between the old world with its big cars, big artists, and big desires, with the new one, where ever-changing ephemeral digital flows and momentary impressions are dominant. The tension of old school vs future is what electrifies and makes the project’s songs meaningful, especially at the concerts. The style and identity cannot originate without an idea, flesh and blood, labour and self-awareness. Poko Cox has it all. He was at the origin of the epoch, which gave birth to the trendy music of today, and successfully came over it.
